Yosemite National Park, Half Dome, Moonrise

In his book "Examples—The Making of 40 Photographs" Ansel Adams writes: "I happened to be driving toward the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Valley one winter afternoon [...]". The chapter continues with useful clues about the brightness and "surprisingly fast" motion of the moon, along with film format, film speed, focal length, filter, aperture, exposure, etc. Consulting the moon phase calendar and the weather forecast, I felt prepared enough to "happen" to be there at the right time. But I wasn't prepared to make my own photograph. Above is a snapshot, taken with my D-SLR to check the exposure, cropped and photoshopped to make it look like something. Next time I'll be really prepared...
